May 4th-may 8th

5/4-5/8 music activities

1.) Sing: Shine Gentle Sun

Watch this round that Ms. Han and Ms. Sheridan recorded.
Try to sing along to one of the parts that we are singing, or grab a family member to sing the other part with you at the same time. It can be a fun challenge!

2.) Watch & Sing: Beat is the HeartThis week we’re going to be watching a video that teaches us about how important keeping a beat is! We often start music class by “Pat, pat, patting the beat” before we sing our hello song. This video will show you why that’s important! Try to pat and sing along with the video. Have fun!

3.) Move: Body Percussion
Try to start at the beginning of the slides and go all the way down if you can! Remember to keep a steady beat and not get faster. How many slides can you get through?

4.) Listen & Create
Please go and listen to the song that I have posted below. You can listen to it as many times as you want. After you are done listening, please print out or copy the worksheet next to it on a piece of paper and fill it out. You can ask your adult for help with reading or directions. I would love to see your work!

3.) MOVE: This song activity gives you a chance to work on your coordination and musical timing while having fun! The “Deteggtive” will lead you through the song showing you which beat is happening in the music. The picture here tells you what each egg means.
  • When you see a blue egg, HOP!
  • When you see a yellow egg, CLAP!
  • When you see a red egg STOMP!
Follow along and try one color at a time. See if you can keep up and make every movement happen with the beat of the music. Then try to do two colors, and finally, try all three!
